One of the painful components of suicide is that the stigma that surrounds the issue. Many people feel that they can't talk about their feelings and their experiences. Stigma contributes to shame and shame can be deadly. Stigma contributes to a lack of resources and prioritization, which can be deadly. Stigma leads to misunderstandings, heartbreak, and compounded pain - all of which, in the context of lives that have been touched by suicide - can be deadly.
