Cleopatra

Cleopatra VII Philopator known to history as Cleopatra, was the last active ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt. After her reign, Egypt became a province of the recently established Roman Empire.

After the assassination of Julius Caesar in 44 BC, she aligned with Mark Antony in opposition to Caesar's legal heir, Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus (later known as Augustus). She and Antony had three children. Antony died by suicide after losing the Battle of Actium to Octavian's forces, and shortly after, Cleopatra died by suicide as well. She was 39 years old when she died.
